Currently, Mike is a scout for one of the top Junior programs in the country, the Lone Star Brahmas of the North American Hockey League (NAHL). Within his role, Mike is responsible for recruiting players, focusing on the New England Prep circuit as well as scouting junior programs in the northeast. 

 

Additionally, Mike is a level four coach and was with the Long Island Gulls organization for 12 years, during at which time he also provided skills training at the Long Island Sports hub. Many of Mike’s former players have moved on to preparatory  schools as well as NCAA Division 1 and 3 hockey programs. 

 

During his playing days, Mike served as the captain of LIU’s club college hockey team, moving to the bench as an assistant coach during the 1994-1996 seasons. Currently, he teaches high school history with 27 years of experience in the classroom.

Vinny is a Level 4 coach With 50 years under his belt playing & coacing the game of hockey. Vinny Messina spent 25 years as one of the Head Coaches & Hockey Directors at N.Y. Islanders Iceworks year round Hockey School. 

 

The Long Island native is the Nephew of former New York Ranger & NHL, HOF Player & Broadcaster Sal "Red Light" Messina. His Coaching Career has spanned the last 30+ years and includes Head coaching time with the New York Bobcats, Massapequa High School, Friends Academy, The Portledge School, The Junior Islanders, Stony Brook University's Men's Hockey Team, The Long Island Gulls & Currently The Long Island Royals. Coach Messina  began Coaching at Iceworks in 1993 and has seen dozens of his students go on to be successful, hockey players at the NHL, Minor Pro, NCAA Division 1 & 3 & ACHA DIVISION 1, 2 & 3. Messina is also a College Professor & Business Owner & Proud father of 1 son. He has been committed to the Improvment of & Support of Long Island Youth Hockey players.

Dr Salvatore Trazzera is the Principal Owner and CEO of Nytex Sports, LLC, owner operator of the Nytex Sports Centre and Brahmas Hockey.  The LoneStar Brahmas are perennially at top team in the North American Hockey League (NAHL).  The NAHL is one of USA Hockeys top two Junior Hockey Leagues along with the United States Hockey League (USHL) and sends over 350 players, the most of any Junior Hockey Leagues in North America, to NCAA College Hockey Annually.  The architect of successful Minor Professional Teams, youth hockey association and Tier II and Tier III Jr. Hockey teams the Brahmas have won a professional minor league championship and two Jr Hockey National Championships over the last 15 years.  The LoneStar Bramas of the NAHL  and Texas Brahmas of the NA3HL are amoungst the top ranked Jr Programs on an annual basis.

 

Among others the Brahmas have alumni at The United States Airforce Academy, The United States Military Academy at West Point, Harvard, Princeton, Yale, Niagra, Trinity College, Union College, Merrimack, Univ Minn Daluth, Mercihurst and Bentley.  Additionally, the Brahmas have had several NHL draft choices and dozens of alumni playing minor professional hockey around the world.

Dr. Trazzera mission has always been to advance the game of hockey and provide opportunities for growth academically and as collegiate scholar athletes.  A former player he grew up in LI and played youth hockey for the LI Gulls and collegeiate hockey at Geneso State University and St. Johns University.  He has coached at the youth and Jr hockey levels holds a USA Hockey Level V Coaching Certification and remains active in all aspects of the game.  He has assembled the coaches and opportunity for young hockey players to advance their game through skills training with 'High Level Hockey' skills clinics.
